Mt. Vernon — Spero Family Services revealed their remodeled facility in Mt. Vernon on Friday after two years of planning. Formerly known as the United Methodist Childrens Home, the Youth Homes at Spero Family Services provide residential mental health treatment for youth ages 12-21.

The group had initially hoped to raise $330,000 in four years but accomplished the goal in nearly half the time.  Retired Congressman Glenn Poshard and his wife Jo were on hand as representatives of the Poshard Foundation who assisted with the project. Numerous local churches, businesses, individuals and unions also supported the project and had representatives in attendance on Friday.
