Illinois Supreme Court Won’t Hear AFSCME Contract Case

(Springfield, IL)  —  The Illinois Supreme Court won’t be the one to decide if Illinois’ contract talks are at a standstill. The high court yesterday declined Governor Rauner’s request to take on the case.  The governor’s office says talks with the state’s largest public employee union, AFSCME, are at an impasse.  The union says they’re still willing to talk.  The court did not give a reason why it declined the case.
