Memorial Could Cost Southern Illinois School 20-Thousand Dollars

(Chester, IL)  —  A memorial for a fallen police officer could end-up costing Chester Schools 20-thousand dollars in state support. Chester closed its schools after three hours for a memorial in November of last year. The State Board of Education recently told the school those three hours are not enough for a full school day. Chester won’t see any state funding for the day. School leaders say they can’t afford to lose any more money from the state.
