(Springfield, IL)  —  Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville may be saving the school’s main campus.  Trustees are being asked next week to approve a 30-million dollar loan from SIU-E to SIU-Carbondale. SIU President Randy Dunn says the loan is the only way the Carbondale campus can make it through the latest budget crunch.  But many students and faculty members at the Edwardsville campus feel they’re being punished by the loan and a proposal to cut millions from their budget.
