Darius Rucker Introduces Backstage Southern Whiskey

Endeavors in the whiskey business seem to be catching on with country artists. Florida Georgia Line unveiled their signature brand Old Camp Whiskey last summer. Now, Darius Rucker is the latest artist to develop his own brand of whiskey. Darius has partnered with 843 to concoct his own signature blend called Backstage Southern Whiskey which is a smooth 84.3 proof craft blend. Rucker’s Backstage Southern Whiskey has already been introduced in his home state of South Carolina with distribution in Georgia, Kentucky and Tennessee to follow.

Over the years, Darius and his tour mates, band and special guests have raised a glass of whiskey prior to each performance as a “good luck” toast to ensure a great show. Darius said, “That toast is a vital part of our nightly routine. It’s really about celebrating the opportunity to make music together. And Backstage Southern Whiskey is now a part of that important ritual that we can share with fans.”

Rucker also has a bourbon brand, Forbidden, that is being crafted at Castle and Key distillery in Frankfort, KY by award-winning Master Distiller Marianne Barnes.
