Governor Rauner Predicts No Fourth Term For Mayor Emanuel

(SPRINGFIELD, IL)  —  Governor Rauner believes Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s political future in the city will last no more than a third term.  The state’s top lawmaker said today that “the current mayor is not going to be mayor in 2023.”  Rauner made the statement when he was discussing his veto last week of the mayor’s proposed changes to the city’s pension funds for municipal workers and laborers.  City Hall spokesman Pete Giangreco responded that he should be more concerned with who’s governor in 2019.
