Deputy Won’t Face Charges In Vermilion County Shooting

(Springfield, IL)  —  A Vermilion County sheriff’s deputy won’t face charges for shooting a man during a domestic disturbance last year in Danville.  Prosecutors determined Sergeant Todd Damilano was justified when he opened fire at Caleb Emory in December.  Police say the shooting happened after the suspect pointed a gun at sheriff’s deputies.  Emory was treated at the hospital for his injuries.
