Two Illinois Women Confirmed With Zika

(Springfield, IL) — Two pregnant Illinois women are among nine found across the country to have confirmed cases of Zika virus infections. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says all of the pregnant women contracted the virus in Central or South America or the Caribbean. The CDC is investigating ten other reports of pregnant travelers with Zika, but among these nine women, three had babies, one of them with a brain defect, two had miscarriages, two had abortions and two pregnancies continue.
