Deere CEO: We’re ‘Doing Well’ Despite Sales Slump

(Moline, IL) — The top man at John Deere says the Illinois-based big green tractor maker is doing well, despite a multi-billion dollar slump in sales. Deere chairman and CEO Sam Allen told shareholders yesterday the company took ‘decisive actions’ to stay ahead of a challenging environment. Deere laid of a number of workers last year. Allen says sales are down ten-percent and earnings are expected to drop, but he says the company is still profitable.
