(SALEM, IL) — March 14 jury trial dates were confirmed Tuesday in Marion County Court, for two separate felony cases. In the first case, a 27-year-old Mulberry Grove is charged with the early Christmas morning shooting death of a man in the parking lot of a Centralia bar. Demetrice Lockett is scheduled for a March 14, jury trial and March 3 final pre-trial on two counts First Degree murder, in connection with the death of 26-year-old Leroy Roberson of Mt. Vernon. One count against Lockett alleges his actions were committed with the intent to kill or injure and the other count alleged his actions were committed knowing there was a strong probability his actions would kill or injure. An autopsy conducted on Roberson confirmed he died instantly of a single gunshot that struck him in the lower left back with an upward trajectory. In the second case confirmed for trial, a 17-year-old Centralia man charged as an adult with a December armed robbery of a Central City retail store. Oslo White is charged with Class X felony armed robbery in connection with the alleged armed robbery of the Dollar General Store in Central City. White also confirmed a March 14 jury trial during a Tuesday morning hearing. A warrant for White’s arrest was issued December 22, and the case file was sealed until his arrest. White was arrested December 22, when Centralia and Wamac police allegedly found him hiding on a shelf in the closet of a Centralia apartment. White waived his right to a preliminary hearing during a January 26 court hearing and pleaded not guilty to the charge. A final pre-trial hearing is scheduled for March 3. White remains in the Marion County Jail, and bail remains set at $100,000.
