(BENTON, IL) — A Macedonia man, who was indicted by a Franklin County Grand Jury on an aggravated DUI charge stemming from a wreck that killed 17-year-old Isaiah Snowden last October, made another appearance with his lawyer recently in Franklin County Court. During Clay Kelley’s pretrial hearing, his attorney made accounts of the accident reconstruction reports that were filed earlier this month and are under review for Kelley’s case. Another pre-trial hearing for Kelly was set for May 12. Kelley was driving a pickup truck at a high rate of speed when he failed to stop at the intersection of Bessie Road and Akin Blacktop and crashed into a tree, then into a modular home where the truck rolled over and came to rest on its top. Snowden was killed in the crash. Kelley and two other passengers fled the crash scene. Kelley was found later walking in the area and was arrested. Two other passengers in the truck were also found and suffered non-life threatening injuries. Kelly pled not guilty to the charges in November and was charged as an adult because he turned 18 in December. Twenty-two-year-old Michael Wyant and 22-year-old Johnathon Goddard were also charged in relation to the crash. Wyant allegedly gave Kelly alcohol. It was found at the scene following the crash. Goddard allegedly gave the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office false information about the wreck.
