(MCLEANSBORO, IL) — McLeansboro Police, with help from the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, Secretary of State Police and Illinois State Police arrested a juvenile suspect Friday morning for allegedly making a bomb threat at Hamilton County Jr./Sr. High School in McLeansboro Thursday. Hamilton County State’s Attorney Justin Hood says the juvenile has been charged with falsely making at terrorist threat – a Class 1 felony – and disorderly conduct – a Class 4 felony. The juvenile is lodged in the Franklin County Juvenile Detention Center in Benton. School officials say after the bomb threat was called in Thursday morning, procedures to deal with it were put into place. McLeansboro Police were made aware of the threat around 10:45 a.m. Students were evacuated immediately. Students who drove to school were allowed to leave while remaining students were bused to the old high school gym nearby for parent pickup or to ride their regular bus home. Officials say nothing was found and students were allowed to get their belongings Thursday afternoon.
