(MCLEANSBORO, IL) — Students at Hamilton County Junior/Senior High School in McLeansboro had a short day Thursday due to a bomb threat. School officials say after the threat was called in Thursday morning, procedures to deal with it were put into place. McLeansboro Police were made aware of the threat around 10:45 a.m. Students were evacuated immediately. Students who drove to school were allowed to leave while remaining students were bussed to the old high school gym nearby for parent pickup or to ride their regular bus home. Officials say nothing was found and students were allowed to get their belongings Thursday afternoon. The freshman basketball game scheduled between Hamilton County and Harrisburg for Thursday night was cancelled.
