LaHood: Senate Is Right To Wait On Supreme Court

(Washington, DC) — One western Illinois congressman says the United States Senate is within its rights to wait for the next president to nominate a new Supreme Court justice. Congressman Darin LaHood says the Constitution gives the Senate the power to advise and consent, and he says they can use that power as they see fit. LaHood says he fears a recess appointment from President Obama would lead to terrible fighting on Capitol Hill for years to come.
