Bill Would Require Gun Seizure From Domestic Violence Offenders

(Springfield, IL) — Under a bill introduced in Springfield, police in Illinois would be required to seize the guns from anyone found ineligible to own them. The measures introduced in both houses target domestic violence offenders whose crimes have invalidated their Firearm Owners Identification Cards. The bill would make it mandatory for police to get a warrant and remove any firearms from homes where domestic abusers or anyone else not allowed to own a gun lives.
