(MT. VERNON, IL) — A Sunday night traffic stop in Mt. Vernon landed a 23-year-old man in the Jefferson County Jail on charges alleging firearms trafficking in the Mt. Vernon area. Cameron K. Dunn was wanted on a Jefferson County warrant when Mt. Vernon police stopped vehicle he was driving for failure to signal at 12th and Jones at approximately 10:30 Sunday night. The warrant charges Dunn with three counts of unlawful delivery of a stolen firearm. The charges alleged Dunn was involved in three incidents of selling or trafficking firearms in the Mt. Vernon area. The charges against Dunn are the result of ongoing investigations involving the Mt Vernon Police Department, Mt Vernon Police Department/Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department Joint Narcotics Unit and the ATF. Dunn remains in the Jefferson County Jail with bail set at $40,000.
