(MT. VERNON, IL) — Bail was set at $100,000 Monday for a 30-year-old Mt. Vernon man arrested late Friday night in Centralia on multiple drug and weapons charges. Princeton Terran Turner was formally charged in Marion County Court Monday with Class 3 felony possession of a firearm by a felon, Class 2 felony possession of a stolen firearm, Class 2 felony possession of narcotics and Class A misdemeanor of manufacture with the intent to distribute between 2.5 and 10 grams of cannabis. Turner was arrested when a search of his person reportedly revealed he was carrying a large baggie containing several smaller baggies of cannabis. A subsequent search of his vehicle reportedly revealed a gun in the center console of his vehicle that later was found to have been stolen from Herrin, along with $2,000 cash and eight pills that tested positive for heroin. He is next scheduled to appear March 1, in Marion County Court for a first appearance with court appointed counsel.
