(BENTON, IL) — A West Frankfort man will spend the next four years in prison for stabbing a man on New Year’s Eve. According to the Frankfort American, 24-year-old Richard M. Espinoza recently pled guilty to aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. West Frankfort Police arrested Espinoza in the early morning hours of Jan. 1 after responding to a call in the 400 block of South Dorris Street. Espinoza stabbed 24-year-old Anthony Cano-Dirden, who was airlifted to a trauma center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
