(Pinckneyville, IL) — The former bookkeeper of the Pinckneyville Rural Fire Protection District is admitting to stealing a large amount of taxpayer money. Tammy Kellerman pleaded guilty yesterday to mail fraud. Prosecutors say she stole more than 450-thousand-dollars by using checks on the district’s account to pay off personal credit cards and expenses. Sentencing is scheduled for May. Kellerman faces up to 20 years in prison.
