(MT. VERNON, IL) — The Mt. Vernon Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a person of interest in connection with a retail theft that occurred at the Dollar General Store, 1814 Benton Road. It is possible the person left in a light colored Dodge Journey. If you have any information about this theft please contact the Mt Vernon Police Department Detective Division at 242-2131 or Jefferson County Crime Stoppers at 242-8477.
