Governor Rauner Still Plans To Veto MAP Grant Funding Bill

(Springfield, IL) — Governor Rauner is still planning to veto a bill that would fund MAP grants and community colleges. Rauner let his intentions be known after lawmakers passed the measure last week. Senate President John Cullerton later said he would delay sending the bill to Rauner in order to give him time to reconsider. The governor says he couldn’t sign the proposal because there isn’t any money to pay for it.
