(PINCKNEYVILLE, IL) — Four people were taken to local hospitals following a two-vehicle crash in Perry County Sunday afternoon. Illinois State Police say around 12:30, a 16-year-old girl from Du Quoin was driving east on Greens Market Road and failed to yield at the intersection with U.S. 51 and struck another car going south driven by 27-year-old Katherine M. Rice of Pinckneyville. The girl was taken by private vehicle to Marshall Browning Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Rice and her passengers, 37-year-old Bradley S. Rice of Pinckneyville and two young children, were taken by private vehicle to Carbondale Memorial Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The girl from Du Quoin was cited for failure to yield at stop intersection. Rice was cited for no valid driver’s license and operating an uninsured vehicle.
