(MCLEANSBORO, IL) — A Percy man is facing charges following an alleged stabbing in Hamilton County Tuesday night. McLeansboro Police along with Illinois State Police and the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office responded to a stabbing in the 600 block of South Pearl Street around 9:30. When officers arrived, the suspect – 37-year-old Duane G. Carlson – had fled the scene and two victims – 34-year-old Thomas C. Garrison of McLeansboro and 34-year-old Mitzi M. Willis of Percy – were taken Hamilton County ER. Garrison was later airlifted to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. Willis was treated and released. Carlson fled from officers in a red Chevy Blazer. It was later found in Dale and Carlson was found with minor injuries. He was taken to Hamilton Memorial ER. Carlson has been charged with aggravated domestic battery, aggravated battery, home invasion and unlawful use of a weapon by a felon. Officials say Carlson will not be booked into jail until his medical treatment is finished.
