ALBION, Ill. (AP) — A Michigan woman who rediscovered the Vietnam War bracelet she had as a teenager has returned it to the soldier’s family just as the soldier’s remains had been returned to the U.S. The (Evansville) Courier and Press reports Terri Woody recently found the MIA bracelet honoring Sgt. Kenneth L. Cunningham. Cunningham went missing on Oct. 3, 1969 when the surveillance aircraft he was in crashed near Kon Tum Province, South Vietnam. He was declared dead in 1978 and his remains were recently identified and returned to Albion, Illinois. A friend drove Woody — who recently lost her leg to cancer — to Albion to deliver the bracelet she ordered through the mail when she was 14. She presented it to Cunningham’s brothers, David and Junior and sister Ruth Barnett.
