(Springfield, IL) — Governor Rauner is calling for bipartisan cooperation in order to fix the state. The governor gave his second State of the State address yesterday as protesters gathered outside the Illinois House chamber. Rauner called for legislators to pass Senate President John Cullerton’s pension reform bill. He also promised changes to education funding and the criminal justice system. House Speaker Michael Madigan criticized the governor, saying his speech didn’t address the fact that there isn’t a budget for the current fiscal year.
