(Belleville, IL) — The man in charge of the underused MidAmerica Airport is getting a 20-thousand-dollar bonus for adding passengers and tenants to the facility. The St. Clair County Public Building Commission has approved the bonus for Tim Cantwell after he met the passenger and revenue goals set out for him. The airport had 31-thousand passengers last year and flights to Las Vegas were added. Allegiant Airlines also plans to add flights to two Florida cities this year. The airport continues to operate in the red, requiring millions of dollars in government subsidies each year.
