Benton Man Accused Of Aggravated Assault, Unlawful Restraint Gets Court Dates

(BENTON, IL) — A Benton man accused of using a knife unlawfully as a deadly weapon against a woman and then battering her by pushing her head into a wall is set to appear again in Franklin County Court March 10 for his pre-trial conference. According to court records, 53-year-old David Blair was indicted by a Franklin County Grand Jury on charges of aggravated unlawful restraint, domestic battery and aggravated assault stemming from the incident. He was arrested following the incident on Jan. 11. Blair made an appearance this week in Franklin County Court on the charges that were not read aloud and entered a not guilty plea with his attorney present. Blair is no longer in custody after posting $6,000 cash bond.
