(Benton, IL) — A Chicago man is heading to federal prison after admitting to sending bomb threats to Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. Derrick Dawon Burns was sentenced to two years. He pleaded guilty last August to sending at least four threatening letters to students and staff. Three of them were titled “The War on SIU.” Burns was enrolled at the school from 2011 to 2013.
