(WEST FRANKFORT, IL) — Fire officials in West Frankfort are investigating a house fire that happened around 3:10 Monday morning in the 300 block of North Emma Street. WSIL-TV reports when firefighters arrived, the house was already engulfed in flames. A call for mutual aid went out. Firefighters from Benton, Marion, Herrin and Carterville all responded. Officials say no one was living in the home and added that the fire doesn’t appear suspicious at this time. Firefighters did have some difficulty fighting the blaze and water was freezing very quickly due to the cold temperatures. No injuries were reported.
