Authorities Investigate Blue Goose Liquor Robbery

(WAMAC, IL) — Around 9 o’clock Monday night, Wamac and Centralia police responded to a panic alarm at south-side liquor store, where a clerk was reportedly struck on the head during an armed robbery. Two armed suspects reportedly robbed Blue Goose Liquor at 363 E 17th Street in Wamac and fled from the store in a white four-door car. It’s believed the suspects headed north in the alley between Locust and Poplar streets, before possibly turning east on 15th Street. The suspects were described as two black males wearing dark clothing and black masks over their faces. Three people were reportedly in the store at the time of the robbery, with one reported to have been struck on the head by one of the suspects. Lifestar was dispatched to the scene to provide treatment to the injured individual, but was delayed by a train on the tracks. The extent of the person’s injuries was unclear. Salem police were ultimately contacted to bring their K-9 unit to the scene to aid in tracking the suspects.
