(WAMAC, IL) — Around 9 o’clock Monday night, Wamac and Centralia police responded to a panic alarm at south-side liquor store, where a clerk was reportedly struck on the head during an armed robbery. Two armed suspects reportedly robbed Blue Goose Liquor at 363 E 17th Street in Wamac and fled from the store in a white four-door car. It’s believed the suspects headed north in the alley between Locust and Poplar streets, before possibly turning east on 15th Street. The suspects were described as two black males wearing dark clothing and black masks over their faces. Three people were reportedly in the store at the time of the robbery, with one reported to have been struck on the head by one of the suspects.
