Illinois management agency director leaving post

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) — Gov. Bruce Rauner’s office says state Central Management Services Director Tom Tyrrell is leaving. The Republican governor is appointing Mike Hoffman as acting director. He’s currently the chief operating officer at the state’s Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity. The governor’s office made the announcement Friday morning. A Rauner spokeswoman did not say why Tyrrell is leaving. Tyrrell was appointed by Rauner last January. Before the state post, Tyrrell served as the chief operating officer of Chicago Public Schools.
