Rauner Administration: Reform Spending And We’ll Talk About MAP Grants

(Springfield, IL) — Governor Bruce Rauner’s administration is telling colleges and universities in Illinois to get their spending in order before lecturing the state about a lack of college tuition aid. The schools say they’re in desperate need of MAP funding to help students afford college. Rauner’s deputy chief of staff wrote an open letter to the schools yesterday, pointing to huge increases in administrative spending and lobbying, while at the same time tuition for students spiked.
