McLean County Board Chairman Resigns

(Bloomington, IL) — McLean County Board Chairman Matt Sorensen is stepping down following an indictment on federal fraud charges. The Republican resigned yesterday after serving as chairman for nearly a decade. He and co-defendant Navdeep Arora were indicted following claims they billed State Farm nearly 900-thousand-dollars in bogus consulting services and travel expenses. Sorensen is due in Chicago federal court today.
