(Benton, IL) — Franklin County authorities are warning area businesses to be aware of counterfeit checks. Officials say someone cashed two Franklin County payroll checks at a Walmart in the Chicagoland area. An investigation is underway. If anyone comes across a suspicious looking check, they should contact the Franklin County Treasurer’s office.
