(Granite City, IL) — A stolen Granite City Police car is back with the department. Authorities say the vehicle was recovered yesterday at an apartment complex in the Village of Norwood Court. The car was taken Monday after an officer pulled up behind a minivan. The officer went to check on the driver and found a person slumped at the wheel. A person got into the officer’s vehicle and drove forward, knocking him down. Both vehicles then fled the scene. The officer suffered only minor injuries.
