(SALEM, IL) — Bail has been set at $100,000 each for three Marion County men who were arrested when sheriff’s deputies allegedly discovered a meth lab while searching for a wanted fugitive. Deputies had gone to the home of 57-year-old Bruce D. Reynolds on South Elm Street in Centralia in their ongoing search for wanted fugitive Seth Lambert of Patoka. Reynolds had earlier been arrested, but released, on suspicion of helping Lambert avoid arrest after he had checked himself out of a St. Louis area hospital where he had been taken following a high-speed chase and head-on crash in Centralia earlier this month. While at the Reynolds home, deputies reportedly discovered a meth lab and other evidence pointing to meth manufacturing activity in the house. Reynolds was formally charged Tuesday morning in Marion County Court with Class 1 felony manufacture of less than 15 grams of meth, and three counts Class 4 felony possession of a controlled substance. Also arrested at his home were 39-year-old Mark E. Smith, and 45-year-old Anthony W. Finkbone, both of Centralia. They were each formally charged Tuesday morning in Marion County Court with Class 1 manufacture of less than 15 grams of meth, Class 2 felony possession of meth manufacturing material, and Class 3 felony possession of less than 5 grams of meth. Another man, 48-year-old John Hunt, of Wamac, was also arrested at the Reynolds home, but has since been released without charge. Law enforcement continues its search for Lambert, who in addition to being wanted in connection with the wrong-way high-speed chase and eventual collision, is also wanted on an outstanding Marion County warrant for possession of meth. Anyone with information on Lambert’s whereabouts is asked to call Marion County Crime Stoppers at 800-499-UTEL or 800-499-8835. A reward is being offered for information leading to Lambert’s arrest. You can remain anonymous and still collect a reward.
