(Granite City, IL) — The American Red Cross is providing shelter to those who have been impacted by the floods in the Metro East. The Red Cross has set up an emergency shelter at the Nameoki United Methodist Church in Granite City for those who have been forced to leave their homes in the nearby areas. It is believed about 50 people took refuge at the shelter last night. It is expected to be open for at least two more days.
