(EAST ST. LOUIS, IL) — A Randolph County man was recently charged by indictment with conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine. Acting U.S. Attorney James Porter says the indictment alleges that 35-year-old Christopher L. Dallas of Chester committed the offense between last year and June of this year in Perry and Randolph counties. Dallas made his initial appearance in federal court Monday. He was ordered held without bond pending a jury trial on Feb. 27. The methamphetamine offense carries a maximum penalty of up to 20 years in prison, to be followed by three years of supervised release and a $1 million fine.
