(WEST FRANKFORT, IL) –Several area fire departments were called out to help West Frankfort firefighters battle a house fire on Highway 149 just east of West Frankfort Tuesday morning. Firefighters arrived around 9 and began fighting the blaze from outside the home. They were able to get inside the home around 9:40. The home is a total loss. The West Frankfort fire chief told WSIL-TV an older couple lived at the home, but no one was there when the fire started.
