DOJ Starts Civil Rights Investigation Of Chicago Police Department

(Chicago, IL) — The fed’s investigation into the Chicago Police Department is underway. At first, Mayor Emanuel was against the U.S. Department of Justice starting a probe of the police force, but has changed his mind. The mayor is expected to speak with federal agents sometime today. The intent of the investigation is to take a close look at the use of force by the police department following the release of the video showing the shooting death of Laquan McDonald.
