(Centralia, IL) — Clinton County State’s Attorney John Hudspeth says he expects to decide soon whether to charge a state hospital worker in the death of a resident who drowned in a shower. Forty-six-year-old Todd Clementz was deaf, blind and severely disabled and lived according to a regimented routine at the Murray Developmental Center. In late March, a worker gave Clementz an unscheduled shower, possibly as discipline for a behavioral outburst, and Clementz drowned on the water from the hand-held shower nozzle. The worker was first placed on leave, but then fired for a separate infraction.
