(VALIER, IL) — We now know the name of the man who died in Monday’s fatal one-vehicle crash in Valier. Franklin County Coroner Marty Leffler says he’s 75-year-old Ronald Wayne Terry, Sr. of Valier. Leffler says preliminary autopsy results from an autopsy conducted Tuesday afternoon showed Terry died from laceration to the heart due to blunt chest trauma. Terry was driving south on Jefferson Street, just north of Izaac Walton Road Monday morning, when his vehicle left the roadway, went up an embankment through an electric fence in a cow pasture and struck a tree. Terry was pronounced dead by the coroner’s office shortly after 10:30 a.m. Leffler says this is the 18th motor vehicle fatality in Franklin County this year. The Gilbert Funeral Home in Christopher is in charge of Terry’s arrangements.
