John W. Rosane, age 67 of Bartonville, Illinois and a former resident of Mt. Vernon passed away 4:15 p.m. Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at home in Bartonville.

John was born April 1, 1948 in Alliance, Nebraska. He was a member of the Christian Fellowship Church in Mt. Vernon. He served his Country in the United States Army. He was also was a member of DAV.

John is survived by his sister, Carol Cummins of Centralia, three brothers, Harry Ohden and wife Margaret of Tucson, AZ, Robert Dillman and wife Sheri of Tulsa, OK, and Earl “Butch” Wollitz of Opdyke; special friend Thelma Buchanan; and several nieces and nephews, Lisa Cloud of Bartonville, Tricia and husband Darin Ernster of Clearfield, Utah, Mary and husband Alan Eide of Harrisburg, South Dakota and Joey Pavel of Harrisburg, South Dakota. He was also survived by two great nephews, Chuck Cloud and Chris Ernster.

John was preceded in death by his sister, Connie J. Lane and a great nephew, T.J. Cloud.

Funeral services for John Rosane will be held 12 noon Saturday, December 12, 2015 at Newell Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon with Ken Hayse and Pastor Tom Hunter officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery in Mt. Vernon. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until service time on Saturday at Newell Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.

For those who wish memorials may be made to the Christian Fellowship Church and will be accepted at the funeral home.
