(MT. VERNON, IL) — The Mt. Vernon City Council met Monday evening. Among items on the agenda, a clean fiscal year 2014 – 2015 audit report was presented as it was determined that the fund had a surplus of more than $200,000 instead of an expected shortfall of approximately $1 million. The city attorney gave first readings of a tax levy proposal, approval of an ordinance authorizing a loan with US Bank the amount of $608,000 for the new fire pumper truck, approval of an inducement resolution with Borowiak’s IGA regarding property located within the Downtown TIF District, as well as with Weedy Acres LLC Regarding Property located within the IPCA Westside TIF District, and a resolution approval for an amendment to the tax increment redevelopment agreement with Menard, Inc.
