Carbondale Authorities Identify The Two Victims Hit Saturday Night

(CARBONDALE, IL) — Carbondale Police have released the names of the two men who were hit by a vehicle Saturday night and died afterwards. Police say 18-year-old Gavin Flynn and 18-year-old Ryan Reed, both of Carbondale, were hit by vehicle around 8:30 Saturday night in the area of East Main Street and the intersection with Reeds Station Road. Flynn was pronounced dead at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale Sunday. Reed was pronounced dead at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis Monday. The driver of the vehicle, a 48-year-old man, was not injured in the accident .No citations have been issued at this time. Accident reconstruction officer from the Carbondale Police Department continue to investigate.
