(WEST FRANKFORT, IL) — Frankfort Community High School in West Frankfort was placed on lockdown Wednesday morning following the discovery of a weapon in a locker at the school. Superintendent Dr. Greg Goins says the weapon was not loaded and a suspect was quickly identified and taken into custody by the West Frankfort Police Department, who arrived on the scene immediately. Goins says there is no threat to students at the school. After completing a thorough inspection of the building, the West Frankfort Police Department lifted the lock down at FCHS at 10:20 a.m. Students have now returned to normal school day activities.
