(Chicago, IL) — A University of Illinois at Chicago student is accused of making a threat of gun violence that caused officials to cancel classes yesterday at the University of Chicago campus. Jabari Dean has been charged with transmitting a threat to interstate commerce. Authorities say the man posted an online message that he was coming to the Hyde Park campus today and would kill 16 white men. It would be one victim for each time Laquan McDonald was shot by Chicago Police Officer Jason Van Dyke. University of Chicago officials say classes and events will go on as normal this morning.
