(East St. Louis, IL) — The United States Attorney for the Southern District of Illinois is resigning. Stephen Wigginton is stepping down next month and will join a law firm in the St. Louis area. He took office five years ago and during his tenure recovered nearly a half-a-billion-dollars from individuals and corporations involved in defrauding the government.
