(HARRISBURG, IL) — The Illinois Youth Center in Harrisburg was recently commended by Illinois Department of Juvenile Justice Director Candice Jones for reaching its employee fundraising goal of $40,000 through the State and University Combined Appeal (SECA) donation campaign. Jones says the Harrisburg Youth Center continues to set the standard for charitable giving throughout our department. She noted that reaching this milestone is a testament to the culture of caring and generosity within our workforce. SECA, established in 1983, is a workplace giving campaign that allows state employees to donate to nearly 2,000 charities through annual payroll deduction or by writing a one-time check. The Harrisburg facility received two awards through the program earlier in the year, including third place in “Most Giving.” Facility Superintendent William Peyton says he’s proud of all of the employees for committing to this excellent program and helping those less fortunate than ourselves.
