West Frankfort Authorities Cites Woman For Store Crash

(WEST FRANKFORT, IL) — West Frankfort Police say the woman who crashed her vehicle into a downtown business early Saturday morning has been cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Fifty-two-year-old Carolyn Parkhill suffered minor injuries after crashing into Designer Consigner Boutique around 12:20 a.m. Parkhill refused an ambulance at the scene. According to a West Frankfort Police report, Parkhill was pulling out into the intersection, turning on Emma Street, when it appeared she overcorrected and drove into the store. Police continue to investigate. The store owner says the business will be closed this week.
